Our strength lies in the diversity of our individual personalities, experiences and skills. That’s why it’s particularly important to us that everyone at DREHM can be who they are without having to hide or pretend.
In keeping with this, our employee Natascha Gansinger held a great workshop on the topic of ‘Introversion in the world of work’ and showed us how valuable introverted employees are for teams and companies.
🤔 Passive, antisocial, unfriendly – these are just a few of the prejudices that introverts are confronted with.
Introversion is also often equated with shyness. As a result, non-shy introverts are used to being told that they can’t possibly be introverted.
As a result, the strengths of introverts are pushed into the background. Introverted employees are:
✅ Good listeners, attentive observers and work very precisely.
✅ They think ahead and are creative.
✅ They have strong problem-solving skills and are good at focussing on details.
What can we as managers and colleagues do to make introverts feel comfortable at work?
💡 Create a quiet environment for undisturbed work.
💡 Write instead of calling and communicate in pairs instead of in large groups
💡 Give introverts time to think and don’t misinterpret silence as disinterest.
Thank you Natascha for this valuable workshop, which showed us how much we can learn from each other in order to grow together! 🌻
